In a beautiful little street in the historical centre of Ceglie Messapica you can find this gem of restaurant. A small (but in fact not so small) place where the service is attentive, friendly and discreet, the food is of the quality that would make the chef's grandma very happy, and the list of wines is rich and focused at praising the excellent local production. The price tag is very reasonable and certainly commensurate to the experience. A place that I am happy to visit every time I can.

I can truthfully and honestly say that Cibus was one of the best restaurants ive dined in out of all the restaurants we've eaten at in all our visits to Italy. The service was top notch, the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and the food oh the food was extraordinarily delicious
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We specifically came to Ceglie Messapica, the foodie capital of Puglia, to try Cibus, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Lunch started with complimentary fresh bread, delicious local olive oil, and a lovely chilled gazpacho served in shot glasses. We paired everything with a crisp Puglian white wine that was perfect for a warm afternoon. The mixed appetizers were outstanding. Every dish was fresh, creative, and full of flavour ,from the zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and toasted almonds, to the stracciatella with black truffle, eggplant, wheat and vegetable meatballs, summer salad, and the fried lampascioni with cooked figs. Everything was beautifully prepared and showcased the incredible local ingredients. For our mains, we had the orecchiette with fresh local tomatoes and cacioricotta, along with the eggplant stuffed with seasonal vegetables, olives, cherry tomatoes, and basil. Both were simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious. We finished with the most delicious spumoni, and the restaurant also treated us to traditional Ceglie biscuits, which were the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with its historic stone walls and charming garden setting. The food was exceptional, the wine was excellent, and the service was warm, attentive, and welcoming. Ceglie Messapica may be a small town, but it has a huge culinary reputation, and Cibus shows exactly why. Fresh, local, authentic, and memorable. An absolute delight, and a restaurant I would highly recommend ❤️🇮🇹
Outstanding local food from the region and super helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone coming through the area.
I’d like to make one thing clear up front: this is just nitpicking. It’s a highly rated restaurant, and for the most part, that reputation is well-deserved. The service is excellent, and the food and wine recommendations were outstanding. The main courses were absolutely divine!! The leg of lamb couldn’t have been better, and the sweet-and-sour pork was also perfect. As for the six appetizers we ordered, there were some hits and some misses. Unfortunately, the zucchini flowers were under-seasoned, and the salad was also just okay. On the other hand, the burrata with truffles, the eggplant, and the mashed potatoes with vegetables were perfect. The wine complemented the meal and paired exceptionally well.
Wow! We have been waiting a while for them to reopen but the wait was certainly worth it! Professional attentive service, amazing food and an extensive wine list. Great location and perfect atmosphere
