Route 66 American Diner offers American cuisine with Italian and international influences, in a setting designed for those seeking a casual and distinctive experience. The ambiance is reminiscent of a classic American diner, with a lively and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for lunch, dinner, and social gatherings. Among the most popular dishes are burgers, grilled meats, club sandwiches, and typical diner-style dishes, served in generous portions and with a robust and immediate feel. The menu is geared toward those seeking bold flavors and simple yet distinctive cuisine. What makes the restaurant distinctive is its American-themed format, recognizable in both the dining room and the menu. Overall, it offers a consistent experience, informal and welcoming, centered on classic dishes beautifully integrated into a diner atmosphere.

After already seeing questionable reviews about the service, we decided to have an American experience for 4th of July anyway. We reserved for 19:15 online, but it wasn’t open yet. After a 10 minute wait, we were seated. First people in the door. After 25 minutes, no one took even our drink orders. Nothing. Although we counted at least 10 tables who’s orders were taken, and had drinks. Unacceptable, and the whole vibe was of disinterest of customer service. They couldn’t care less. Never again.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
First of all, we sincerely apologize that your order was not taken promptly. This was certainly not intentional. On the evening of the 4th of July, several tables arrived almost simultaneously, creating a particularly busy moment in the dining room, and unfortunately your table was overlooked. The mistake was ours, and we acknowledge it.
That said, we would also like to point out that the situation could have been resolved very quickly. Rather than raising your voice and creating tension in the dining room, it would have been enough to call one of our servers and let us know you were ready to order. We would have been at your table within a minute.
We work hard to provide a friendly and efficient service, and one mistake during a particularly busy service does not reflect the level of hospitality we strive to offer every day.
Kind regards from Uncle Sam and the Route66 Team,
The Most American Diner in Milan. 🇺🇸

Nice location, can I say stylish somehow? Nailed the USA atmosphere for sure. The burgers, tasty, worth once visit, but no more, french fries too ordinary. Price point a bit expensive compared to quality, but, you know, we pay for experience, not the substance, it works like that in Milano…

Hi, here a summary of my experience on last December 17:
1. Rude waiter.
2. Cooking point of burger was not asked, every burger was rare to medium rare, and they were served cold warmish.
3. Burger stick was not disposable, was a piece of metal instead and it should have been pointed by the waiter. I accidentally bit it and broke a tooth restoration.
PD: It is a pity, because it was our Christmas lunch from work.
Hi dear Natalia,
thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’ll reply point by point, in a clear and respectful way.
Service
We’re sorry if you perceived the waiter as rude. That is never our intention, and we apologise if the interaction didn’t feel welcoming.
Burger cooking
We always ask for the preferred cooking point when taking the order. In any case, if the burgers were not cooked or served as expected, it would have been enough to tell us immediately: we would have remade them on the spot without any issue.
Metal skewer
Our burgers are held with a visible metal skewer, specifically designed for this purpose and commonly used in burger restaurants. It is approximately 13 cm long, clearly visible and not disposable.
For this reason, the claim that it was accidentally bitten and caused damage to a dental restoration seems highly unlikely, as it is not something that can reasonably go unnoticed or fit entirely into the mouth.
We’re genuinely sorry that your work Christmas lunch didn’t turn out as you hoped — that’s never pleasant.
That said, some of the points raised do not reflect how our service and products are presented or handled.
A warm greeting from Uncle Sam and the Route66 Staff,
The Most American Diner in Milan.

As an American I have to say the buffalo wings are not made with buffalo sauce at all and very dry. No ranch or celery comes with. The sweet potato fries were ok but the regular fries no. The burger was good but nothing crazy.

Hi Sara,
thanks for your feedback — but we need to clarify an important point.
We do not list Buffalo Wings on our menu, and we never claim to serve them with Buffalo sauce, ranch, or celery.
Our wings are prepared in our American BBQ style, exactly as described on the menu, not in the classic Buffalo version.
So the negative comment seems based on an expectation for a dish that we simply do not offer.
We’re glad you enjoyed the burger, even if it wasn’t extraordinary for you, and we appreciate your perspective as an American — but it’s important to judge what’s actually on the menu, not what you expected to find.
Feel free to visit us again and try some of our BBQ specialties or signature burgers!
A warm greeting from Uncle Sam and the Route66 Staff,
The Most American Diner in Milan.
