This is not a restaurant to pass up!! Absolutely phenomenal!!
We got off to a rocky start. We sat outside not realizing the main dining was inside. Well, service was phenomenal!! We felt like the only table in the restaurant. The food was unbelievable.
We shared Alpino Egg - cooked spinach with a perfectly poached egg with a cream sauce.
We also shared the radicchio salad.
I had the tagliatella with black truffle. Absolutely delicious. My sister had the tortellini Amarone - pillows of tortellini with a delicious cheese sauce.
The wine list...OMG!!
I can not say enough about the service and food.
Normally by the outside I would be like okay. Looks are deceiving. Go inside, go to the back dining room for a delicious we served dinner.
Grazie!!!

First night in Verona, this place was right across the street and was recommended to us. Exactly what we wanted, great pasta in a lovely authentic Italian setting. Service was excellent, the wine and Tiramisu superb!
What a gem of a restaurant/deli/wine bar in a perfect little corner in Verona!
The food, wine & staff were fantastic. The sommelier Ellie was such a help in choosing our wine that paired perfectly with our meals. 5 stars!!
It is a shame if you don’t go to Scapin 1935!

Scapin is a long established restaurant in Verona's old city centre, enjoying a nice location just few steps away from one of the Roman gates, boasting in fact a Roman mosaics in the premises.
The menu is mostly centrered around the city traditional cuisine, even though some milestones like the Amarone risotto and the horse meat are strangely missing.
The restaurant offers indeed an interesting tasting menu that gives a very tempting, and at Eur 39 pp fairly priced, overview of the Verona traditional cooking.
However, while this menu is very well thought and designed, we found the final products somehow below our culinary expectations: the cod and polenta starter was of mixed results (excellent cod, average polenta), the Amarone tortelli were good and so the beef, although the addition of red Tropea onion felt too dominant. Disappointing was instead the very traditional sbrisolona dessert, supposed to be one of the restaurant's excellences, even if the accompanying eggnog was instead great!
The service was very kind and friendly even though not impeccable.
