Service is a little slower but everything else was magnificent. The eggplant parmesan was to die for and the venison was good beyond words. Definitely worth a go especially if you want to sit in the courtyard for dinner.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was delicious! We had pasta and oysters, and both were absolutely amazing 🤤. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. We were served very quickly, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!
The food is mediocre. In the degustation menu the first 2 courses are served together why? The shrimps were very flat in taste like from cheap convenience packaging, with a greasy mayonnaise on top. Very disappointing for that kind of restaurant. The swordfish for the ceviche was of better quality, but it lacked any refinement from the ceviche. It was more like sashimi. The pasta was also very disappointing and lacked a clear taste profile. The only good food was the main course with the slowly cooked salmon and rice. The biggest ripe off was the wine degustation at 24 Euro/person. The y serve underwhelming wine in only half the amount if you order single glasses at 6 Euro/glass. I was complaining to the manager in charge. She did not apologise but offered to take 50% for the wine which I refused to writhe this feedback. Neat-less to say, they forget to serve the bread up until finishing the appetisers but charged the copperto. How on earth does this restaurant get in Michelin guide.
Dear Sir, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry that your overall experience did not meet your expectations. Regarding your comments about the food, we fully respect that taste is subjective. However, we would like to mention that this tasting menu has generally received very positive feedback from our guests. In fact, on the same evening we served it to four different tables, all of whom were very satisfied with their experience. With regard to the wine pairing, as we were trying to explain at the cashier before you left, the wines served were, in order: Prosecco di Valdobbiadene DOC, Ribolla Gialla Masùt da Rive, Riesling Kerpen and a White Passito. As you may recall, our colleague also showed you each of the bottles. These are wines that are not available by the glass on our wine list. They are selected specifically for the tasting experience and are opened exclusively for guests choosing the wine pairing, with the aim of offering a carefully curated and enjoyable experience. If you felt that the quantity of wine served was insufficient, we would have appreciated knowing this during the dinner. Our staff would have been happy to address the matter immediately and find a satisfactory solution. We also regret that the bread was served later than it should have been. This was an oversight on our part, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We are genuinely sorry that you left with such a negative impression of your evening. We always strive to provide the best possible experience for our guests, and we appreciate constructive feedback as an opportunity to improve. Kind regards, AMO BISTROT
Quite hard to find, tucked away just off Corso S. Anastasia in the centre of Verona's old city, Amo Bistrot is well worth the effort, as it is an excellent example of how good fusion cuisine can be. The menu in fact covers Italian, European and Asian dishes, mixing the ingredients in an innovative and surprisingly good way. While the combinations might appear weird on the menu, the results are simply delicious. With also a kind and attentive service, this is a highly recommended restaurant!
Attended this evening (no research on the establishment prior) when we first entered it was unclear if it was open and no staff made themselves available to show us to a table however after finding a staff member myself we were assured we could sit in the court yard (and that smoking was permitted) after some confusion we were then directed to a different table we had chosen to sit at. We were then advised smoking was not allowed which I thought was strange as this must be the only place in Verona you cannot enjoy a cigarette in the open air. The setting is lovely and very private. Due to a larger table being seated after us there was some time until we were waited upon as they were prioritised but this is understandable to a degree. I ordered a Chatubriand and “smashed potatos” which was reasonably priced at €30 my and my accomplice ordered “salmon tiepido…..” again reasonably priced at €24. The salmon tiepido was virtually raw and although I am assured it was edible by the chef it was simply not something you could enjoy. As for the chatubriand it was served on a sizzling plate but had not been grilled. It tasted as though it had been microwaved to the point it was red hot on the outside but cold in the middle. I have steak on most occasions when I eat out and I have never returned one. On this occasion I felt compelled. I am convinced it had been microwaved but I will never know for sure. As for the smashed potato if your British you will understand it tasted like “smash” which is microwaved mashed potato. The consistency of it was more water the potato. Within two bites the meals were returned. I explained I would pay for the wine as we had drank the glasses but I would not be able to pay for the meal. The manager was graceful enough to not charge us at all which I thought was in good spirit. I expected more but I was disappointed .
"Dear Onedigg", in Italy you can't smoke insiem courtyard. (the law says it and since we take care of our guest, you can't smoke inside the restaurant, also for respect of other guests). Amo Bistrot
