Osteria Scudo di Francia

I really wanted to love this restaurant, but unfortunately it was just okay. The scallop starter was perfectly fine, but nothing particularly memorable, and the mains were similar, enjoyable enough but not outstanding, and we didn’t end up finishing them. There were some positives, especially the wine recommendations, which were fantastic and really added to the experience. However to be fair, we may have just been unlucky with our choices as a family member went later in the evening and she said her chicken dish was delicious.

The place looks nice, the food is ok. The pasta was good, we had paccheri and the pasta with duck. My chicken was very dry, and the artichok was ok. For half an hour, we had reggaeton as (loud) background music, not fitting at all. At some point the playlist ended and there was no music at all, which fitted the atmosphere much better. The service was fine, but they seemed not really into their jobs. Would not go back.

Excellent 👌 Delicious food, terraces on a very quiet street, and a beautiful setting. The waiter was very good, funny and has a little surprise for you if you're a woman...

Terrible experience at this snobbish French eatery. On the recommendation that was not properly explained three of us ordered the risotto which came with raw shrimp to our surprise. It was inedible and the answer was that’s the way it’s prepared. My cube roll was ok but tasted as it had been boiled rather than grilled. Tables are very tight and impossible to sit without constantly being bumped by other chairs. We paid and found a very nice restaurant nearby for take two.

Great food, welcoming service, and a classy atmosphere. Our only issue was that the couvert (bread) was charged twice even though we asked if it was included with the cheese course and they said it was.
