A perfect place in every way—food, service, and atmosphere. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina and the grilled vegetables are absolutely delicious.
Thank you, Eunbi.
“Perfect in every way” is a big sentence, and we’re not pretending it doesn’t make us proud.
We’re especially happy you enjoyed the Bistecca alla Fiorentina and the grilled vegetables. Sometimes a dish doesn’t need much decoration, just good ingredients and proper cooking.
Hope to welcome you again soon.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Everything from the staff, who recommended us some great local wine, to the food and general atmosphere. I would point out that due to it being underground it did get a little warm but it wasn’t unbearable. Would recommend visiting, it was a really nice experience and one of the best pastas we had in Rome.
Thank you, Aisha.
We’re really happy that the food, local wine and atmosphere all came together so well.
And yes, being underground gives La Gattabuia much of its character, but in warmer weather it can also make the room feel a little too cosy. We appreciate you mentioning it with such understanding.
“One of the best pastas we had in Rome” is the part we’ll be repeating in the kitchen.
Hope to see you again.

Can’t speak highly enough about this hidden gem! As tired and hungry parents wanting some authentic Roman cuisine , it was incredible. The carbonara and oxtail were amazing. Service was timely and could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. They also have amazing fries for the kiddos, where applicable. You won’t be disappointed. Great wine list as well!
Thank you, Harry.
“Tired and hungry parents” is a condition we understand very well, and honestly, carbonara and oxtail are not a bad cure.
We’re really glad the evening felt easy, timely and genuinely pleasant for the whole family.
And yes, sometimes the fries for the kids are what allow the adults to enjoy the wine list in peace. Everyone wins.
Hope to welcome you all again.

La Gattabuia is a lovely Italian restaurant in Rome with a beautiful, artistic interior that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was very good, especially the carbonara, which was excellent. They also offer a good selection of wines as well as other Italian drinks.
Overall, it’s a great place for dinner, whether you’re with family, friends, or enjoying a romantic evening.
Thank you, Helph.
We’re glad you noticed the interior, because La Gattabuia is one of those places where the walls, arches and old objects tell almost as much of a story as the menu.
Of course, we’re even happier that the carbonara made the strongest impression.
Family dinner, evening with friends or romantic night: we like the idea that the restaurant can feel right for all three, depending on who’s sitting at the table.
Hope to see you again.

Thank you, Ebubekir.
“Wonderful” and “perfect” are two words that leave us very little to add.
We’re just happy the evening turned out exactly as it should.
See you next time at La Gattabuia.

Such a beautiful spot in one of our favorite areas of Rome! We loved walking around the neighborhood in the evening and then coming here around sunset to sit on the terrace with some amazing Italian food and a glass of wine. Honestly, perfection.
The absolute highlight for us was the Jewish-style artichokes. They are vegan and SO incredibly good that we ordered them multiple times every time we came here. We still dream about them and genuinely wish we could recreate them at home!
There weren’t a huge number of vegan options, but the staff was very open to adapting some of the dishes for us. We had a marinara pizza and a pasta made vegan, and everything we tried was delicious. We ended up coming back multiple times during our stay in Rome, which probably says enough. Definitely worth visiting, especially for those artichokes!
Thank you, Mila. This review genuinely made us smile.
Coming back several times during the same trip is probably the nicest compliment a restaurant can receive. Rome has no shortage of places to eat, so choosing our terrace again means a lot.
We completely understand the obsession with the Jewish-style artichokes. They look innocent enough, then suddenly you’re ordering another one and wondering how to recreate them at home.
We’re also glad the team was able to adapt some dishes for you. Our vegan selection may not be enormous, but we never want that to mean someone at the table has to settle for a sad, improvised plate.
Thank you for coming back, more than once. We hope those artichokes bring you to Rome again.
