Amazing food and wine! Some of their staff could do with smiling a bit more

The place is highly hyped, but in my opinion, overrated. They have an excellent wine selection, which rightfully earned recognition from Wine Spectator. The atmosphere and food are good, but other restaurants in the region offer much better cuisine. It’s particularly notable how rude the host was, making you feel as if you are doing them a favor by dining there. The waitress tried to be friendly, but showed no effort to conceal her contempt for serving a foreigner who doesn’t speak Italian. It’s expensive compared to other top restaurants and was the only one to request gratuity before payment, which is disrespectful for a European establishment. If you just want a glass of wine and tapas outside, it’s worth experiencing once. However, for a proper meal, it’s not worth it and is clearly overrated. For authentic local and chef-cooked food served with genuine smiles and respect for your interest and dining experience I would recommend the Osteria Restaurant Ponte Pietra (Michelin rated) or the La Veccete, which has outstanding food and service!

Ten of ten ! The wine selection is simply amazing, we never saw such a big wine list. Service is good , food so delicious, all very kind waitress. We hope to come back here next time we travel to Italy.

absolutely loved this place - the waiters were amazing - food delicious, atmosphere was perfect (despite the most obnoxious American woman ranting at the next table and being insanely rude to the staff who had to endure her ridiculously entitled, spoiled childish behaviour). I felt so bad for the wait staff that we apologies to them and acknowledged how loud and unreasonable she was.Many other guest around us also complained about her. Needless to say, the staff were very grateful and invited us for a tour of their cellar, which was absolutely stunning. If anything, I would return just to thank them again for their professionalism and kindness in the face of such a horrid guest. The food was excellent, we had the squid, 20 month cured ham, duck ragu and the pea tagliatelle - then Tiramisu for dessert, that with coffee, a bottle of Barolo and water was under €200. Excellent value - and if you cannot go for dinner, I'd recommend just having a glass of wine and one of the cheese bread tapas bits, the Gorgonzola with Apricot was divine.

Just a bit disappointing… really wanted to like this restaurant, waiters were friendly but uninterested, one was totally arrogant, not warning me of a hot dish and consequently me burning my hand . Food was good but not wow , and wine list was a giant book which was useless, unnecessary and unhelpful…. Got treated like a proper tourist and that isn’t a compliment, felt a bit unwelcome and a bit ripped off really , Not saying don’t try it but don’t be surprised if you are disappointed, I think they are getting complacent and believe the reputation is so strong clients are lucky to get a table in the restaurant. Have had better meals in Verona , paid less and treated better and felt more welcome.

This is not just a tourist trap. The food is authentic and the wine amazing. The staff is well trained and helpful. Anyone complaining about time or service doesn’t understand pacing. The wine is part of the meal and should be enjoyed. They also do not understand risotto takes time to cook.
