Was looking to support a family owned business. Tried to eat outside on a nice evening but unfortunately the trash smell from the dumpsters across the street was too much. Not there fault but still. We went inside. The food was bland and frankly my lasagna was likely reheated from earlier in the week. Yes I ate it anyways. The fettucinni Alfredo was just some noodles and not even alfredo sauce. Air conditioner was definitely not on despite the sign on door saying so. They had one guy working the front. We felt sorry for him otherwise we would have left for another spot to eat. Got back to our room and realized that he gave us the wrong check. Not going back to mess with it. The place just seemed off. I’ll await the owner reply.

Gentile Mike,
Cordiali saluti,
La Direzione di Nonna Fortunata
The restaurant changed from Mexican to Italian recently. We went there hoping for Mexican. It was not great. Expensive plates of food and drinks. Very small portions. We left hungry and my daughter's pasta was cold. I had a second course of calamari and prawns. I got 2 prawns and maybe 3 calamari. Deep fried. It said no wheat on the menu but they were clearly crumbed. The waiter was muttering swear words the whole time, every time someone asked for something. Not a great experience.
Diner was amazing! The server was super nice and food was great. Thank you so much for this good time !!!

If there were an option for zero I would give it. I don’t post google reviews, but this experience was so bad I am left with no choice but to warn others about this place. Our family of 4 arrived at 8.30pm after a big day of sightseeing. We were immediately seated as there were only 2 other families eating. Firstly, it took around 15 minutes for the waiter to take our order and that was only because we signaled to get his attention. This place is casual dining and there is no need to wait so long to place an order in a restaurant that is not busy. We ordered a bottle of still water, it was opened before it arrived and was flat sparkling water, now still by definition. The first meal took 20 minutes to arrive, a very small piece of dry and tasteless lasagne which was so hard it was difficult to cut and chew. Five minutes later the carbonara and amatriciana we ordered arrived. They were both initially ok, until my husband found a piece of hard metal about 3cm long in his carbonara. He showed and told the waiter, who just looked at him, he then repeated that this was in his meal. The waiter did not apologise instead just said ‘do you want another meal?’. At this point we were had waited so long for our food, it was getting late and there was no care at all from the waiter so we declined a replacement. The bread was stale, but the worst was yet to come. Three of us had long finished our meals, and one of our sons spaghetti ragu still had not arrived. We waited another 5 minutes and still nothing. It was 9.45pm by this point, we signaled the waiter to ask if the meal was nearly ready. Again he looked blankly at us and said we didn’t order it. My husband replied that we did and that the waiter had repeated the order back to us when we placed it. The waiter again stated no you didn’t, do you want to order it now? No apology, no accountability and bad attitude, which continued while we were paying the bill. He even charged coperto for our son who didn’t get his meal. Mistakes happen, but there are no excuses for poor service, bad attitude and hard dried out lasagne. My guess is that management are going to make excuses and deny any wrong doing here, I have nothing to gain from this but I feel obligated to warn the next person who may be considering coming here to eat. This place is not a 4.5 star restaurant.

Dear Lee,
Thank you for your feedback. I am very concerned by your account of your visit, as it does not reflect the standards of hospitality and quality we strive for at Trattoria Nonna Fortunata.
Regarding the incident with the meal, I would like to clarify that our team immediately offered to replace the dish or prepare any alternative of your choice to ensure your satisfaction. We deeply regret that, despite our attempts to rectify the situation, you felt our response was insufficient.
I would also like to address the foreign object you mentioned: after an immediate internal investigation, we confirmed it was a small fiber from a non-metallic, food-safe cleaning pad, which is part of the standard cleaning protocols required by HACCP regulations to ensure kitchen hygiene. While we maintain these rigorous safety standards, we sincerely apologize that any residue—no matter its nature—ended up in your dish. This is not acceptable, and we have reinforced our cleaning procedures to ensure it never happens again.
We take the feedback regarding the service and the meal quality very seriously and will address these points directly with our staff. We would appreciate the chance to discuss this with you further; please feel free to reach out to us directly.
Sincerely,
The Management
Trattoria Nonna Fortunata
Bland food, no seasoning. Tried to tell us Fanta is San pel thinking we are stupid. Just no flavour and there was a BONE in my VEGETARIAN pasta!

Cordiali saluti,
