Ristorante Il Camino

Wow! Utterly incredible dinner. A real, local experience. Started with some crostini with delicious toppings - a pate, asparagus with artichoke, fontina with porcini. Also, a porcini polenta appetiser. Next a cappelletti in brodo - the broth would make a Jewish grandmother swoon. So intense. Then some steaks, with mushroom. We are from Australia, and our steaks are very different to those here. The cut we had was very lean, no discussion about how you prefer it - they just cook it to absolute perfection. For the beef here, that means rare. It melts like sashimi. The service was efficient and friendly. The wine list is moderate in size, and mostly very local, with wines from Chianti on one side, and a few gems from Emilia Romana on the other. The list is carefully selected. A fried mushroom plate was off the scale good. We are SO glad we came here. This is a real family place. Most people here were local. I will remember dining here as one of the highlights of a 6 week Tuscan trip. Bravo!! **edit a few days later - we went to a Michelin restaurant in Bologna (no stars, but in the guide). Their tortellini in brodo, while good, was nowhere near as good as Il Camino. Il Camino is a real gem. Worth a night in Marradi for this place alone.

We were dropped off the bus in Marradi to attend a wedding. Luck for us we were dropped off next to Ristorante II Camino! Owners and Waite staff couldn't have been friendlier! It was like being with family! Food was exceptional, service impeccable! If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend the experience. I know I will return hungry for more!

Amazing ravioli and service! If you are ever in Marradi, I would highly recommend stopping at this family-owned restaurant. Handmade, fresh food, and very reasonably priced. My highest regards for the chef!
