Best food! We had oysters (so good!), black taglierini, pesto pasta and meatballs, both of us enjoyed our food so much and we finished everything! The staff are professional and incredibly friendly. They brought us English menu with pictures there for us to order knowing we don’t speak Italian. Cooler for our water to keep it cool. Even though the place is full they make sure everyone is looked after. Gem of Genoa :)

Service was nice, food was really good. Owner was really nice. All in all a really enjoyable experience!

Even living in Genova, it’s not often to find a restaurant that impresses us as much as Ostetrattoria did. We recently went for lunch and left genuinely blown away by both the food and the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and welcoming, with attentive service that struck the perfect balance between professional and friendly. We started with the ravioli fritte and the acciughe fritte e ripiene, and both were outstanding. The ravioli fritte were perfectly golden and crisp on the outside while still light and flavourful inside — incredibly satisfying without being too heavy. The acciughe were equally memorable: fresh, delicate, and beautifully prepared, with flavours that really showcased the quality of the ingredients and the care put into every dish. For the main course, I had the paccheri neri with mussels, shrimps and clams, and my husband ordered the ravioli with shrimp. The paccheri nero was absolutely exceptional — rich, flavourful, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in a long time. My husband loved the shrimp ravioli just as much, especially how fresh and balanced everything tasted. We ended lunch with homemade tiramisu, and only one word could describe it - divine! Every plate that came to the table looked beautiful and tasted even better. What really makes Ostetrattoria special is that everything feels genuinely thoughtful. There’s real passion behind the cooking, attention to detail in every course, and a level of consistency that makes you appreciate having a place like this in Genova. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. We’re lucky to have restaurants like this in our city, and Ostetrattoria has definitely become one of our favourite lunch spots. Highly recommended to anyone looking for amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a truly memorable dining experience.

Lovely service and delicious food! Very italian and if you’re lucky enough to get a table, it’s a treat!

My wife and I were visiting Genoa for the first time and were lucky to have one of our best meals during all of our Italian travels at Ostetrattoria! The restaurant is away from the more touristy areas and the detour is well worth it (the location is still walkable from Brignole station). First, the ambiance is that of a cozy family establishment, warm and inviting, and with unique decor. Most of the seating is on the second floor in a space that's just the right size; all the tables were taken but it was never noisy or felt crowded. Second, the servers were so attentive and kind, more than happy to accommodate our lack of Italian (they spoke near perfect English). Lastly, the food was incredible! The smoked goose carpaccio starter is a life-changing experience, truly. My main entree was a swordfish carbonara that I didn't even know existed in Ligurian cuisine and was similarly a revelation. The wife had gnocchi with pesto, very traditional and perfectly executed. Even the bread basket on the table was superb, with melt in your mouth foccacia and other tasty options. I doubt you can find a more satisfying or authentic dining experience around Genoa. Drop in for a meal if you can!

Nice food, fresh and homemade. Small and cosy, but service is quick and definitly nice quality ingrrients. Not overpriced and seems like a lot of locals come regularly. Open even after 14:30 which is normally closing time for lunch in Italy, so I ended up by chance there but I would come back on a planned visit.
