Osteria La Vecchia Scuola

It's true that the vegetarian 'secondo' isn't worthy of the rest of the menu, but then this is simple, Tuscan food at its best (including depressing bread, but also perfect pasta - some without meat, fresh truffles, great meat, perfectly cooked, really nice wines, extensive, delicious dessert choices) all at very reasonable prices. I hesitate to recommend the place as I'd hate to have it spoilt by hoards of adoring tourists, but then who am I to judge.. I am part of the hoard (but the only one there theevening we went).
