If you are anywhere in the Sabina, do not miss La Taverna Del Tiranno. This was one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in Italy. We started with the Jewish-style meatballs—rich, comforting, and full of flavor. One of the standout dishes was a green spaghetti with friarielli and Cantabrian anchovies, finished with something delicately crumbled on top—completely unique, incredibly flavorful, and unlike anything we’ve had before. The pizzas (Ramolaccia and “Tasty One”) were outstanding: perfectly cooked, creative, and packed with flavor. There were also plenty of thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options, and the vegetable medley we ordered was fresh, vibrant, and clearly prepared with care. Dessert sealed it—an exceptional tiramisu and a panna cotta with caramel that was silky and unforgettable. What truly sets this place apart is the service. It feels deeply personal, like every dish matters and every guest is genuinely welcomed. You can taste the passion in the food and feel it in the experience.
Highly recommended.

Tucked away like a well-kept secret, this family-run Italian restaurant delivers exactly what you hope for—and then exceeds it. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed as a guest, not just a customer, with genuine warmth and attentive, personal service.
The menu balances tradition and creativity: classic, well-executed dishes sit alongside thoughtful variations that enhance rather than reinvent. A carefully curated wine list—focused on Italian selections with a few international options—pairs seamlessly with the food, with helpful guidance from the family.
The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it just as suited to a quick meal as a long, unhurried dinner. What truly stands out is the sense of care in every detail, creating an experience that feels personal, generous, and worth returning to, which we have and will continue to do so.

I was staying at a few towns over (Toffia) and was really struggling to find a gluten free hot meal. I decided to make reservations here and I am so glad I did! The best meal I’ve had in a very long time and the service was excellent.
Thank you so much, we are really happy that you enjoyed your stay, and we hope to see you again soon.
Thank you again.

The place was almost empty, few people came for take away. Besides us there was one other family. I didn’t like the hassle to view the menu via a QR code and also the registration for the local WiFi was a hassle. The music which was put on after a while was nice.
