Giardino di Giulia e fratelli provided a very welcome respite for two tourists cycling on the Via Appia Antica on an exceptionally hot Sunday. The welcome was warm and genuine. Management and staff were all lovely. The ambience is relaxed in a beautiful setting. An ideal setting for folk exploring the Via Appia in need of a break for drinks and snacks, although somewhat off the beaten track for tourists staying in central Rome looking for somewhere out of the ordinary for dinner. Well worth the effort of a visit either by taxi or number 118 bus though, as witnessed by the many locals amongst their customers.
Wonderful stop for a drink and some light bites while walking the Appian way. Great service.
We love this place. Our hostess would speak Italian and English, and was funny and sweet. We stopped just to escape the heat, and ended having a full authentic and lovely experience. Thank you!
We were walking along Via Appia, and we stopped here for lunch. The atmosphere was very homely and authentic. We were greeted with bruschetta, and I ordered a saffron pasta with zucchini and guanciale. For dessert, we got a tiramisu and a ricotta and cherry cake. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was also truly splendid. It really felt like they were taking care of us as if we were at their home. For our final meal in Rome before heading back home, this restaurant really left a positive taste (literally and figuratively). Giardino di Giulia e fratelli, in my humble opinion, truly represents the best of Rome.
I had an amazing time here, after a morning walking some of the Appian way. I sat at the garden and had pasta, aperol and tiramisu, the food was delicious. Sitting in the garden was very restful and peaceful and also cheerful. It’s a cute family eatablishment, I was served by the ‘granddaughter’ who was super nice and helped me with the lunch selection. She also gifted me a pin, a picture of one of the historical monuments nearby and some orange ice. It’s clear that a lot of people who eat here are regulars who know each other. All in all much recommended.
