This place recommended to me but we did not like any of the food. For that it was also rather expensive. I have eaten better in some places that I would consider tourist traps.
Beautiful atmosphere and scenery! Courteous staff and excellent food! I would eat here again!
The half piece of a single homemade twisted bread that I got (after the others dining with me shared the 2 pieces) and small portion of the highest quality olive oil was wonderful and memorable. I would have ordered an entire plate of just that with sauce and cheese and probably have given 4 stars. Unfortunately the rest of the ‘homemade’ sliced bread tasted bland and stale. It was supposed to be garlic bread but there was no garlic flavour. And the caprese was disappointing- 22euros for 1 large basic salad-type tomato, 6!small basil leaves and the mozzarella ball (standard size, tasted like it was from Carrefour). There was nothing unique or special about the salad presentation. And the do-it-yourself salt, pepper, basic olive oil and forgettable balsamic felt like less than what I could’ve made for myself at home. We ate in the street and, unfortunately the angle I realised made the salad dressing make me nervous most of the meal that it would spill on my lap. My two friends are also not impressed by their mains (spaghetti and a ravioli type pasta). The servers were always hovering and seemed to be watching us a little too intently so did not feel private. When one would leave, another would come outside and stand often just watching. Would definitely go back for the twisted bread for take-away.
Amazing foods and service, fresh ingredients the pastas are made from scratch, try the Porcini mushroom starter, it’s glorious ✨the chef has a very delicate palette, every dish we tried was excellent.
Grazie ❤️❤️❤️😊
“Authentic Italian food”? More like FRAUDULENT Italian food If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. We came here on our very first night in Rome, excited to enjoy some traditional Italian food, and it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The food was simply awful. The bread was stale, rock hard, and served in a bag. The so-called garlic bread tasted exactly the same, with barely any garlic flavour at all. Every pasta dish was bland, undercooked, and completely lacking in seasoning. One dish was advertised as containing chicken but arrived with minced chicken instead, which was unexpected and very unappetising. To make matters worse, one of our group found a hair in her pasta. Rather than simply apologising, the staff repeatedly tried to replace the meal even after she politely declined, and several members of staff came over to question us, making the whole situation incredibly uncomfortable. After we complained, the service became noticeably slower. We waited far too long for the bill while other tables were served with a smile. To top it all off, the manager asked, “Was everything okay?” Which was honestly astonishing, despite being fully aware of everything that had happened. There was no genuine apology and nothing was taken off the bill. Rome is full of fantastic restaurants. Don’t waste one of your meals here.
Dear Laura, We are sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we feel it is important to clarify a few points so that readers have a complete and accurate account of what happened. When the issue with one of the dishes was brought to our attention, our staff immediately apologized and prepared a fresh replacement, which was accepted and enjoyed. For this reason, we are surprised to read a different version of the events in your review. As for your other comments, we always take constructive feedback seriously and use it to improve. However, we cannot agree with a description that, in our view, does not accurately reflect what took place or the standards of quality and hospitality that we strive to provide every day. We are genuinely sorry that your visit did not leave you with a positive impression. Nevertheless, we remain committed to offering every guest the warm welcome, authentic Italian cuisine, and attentive service that so many of our customers have come to appreciate. We wish you all the best and hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Rome. Roberta Pepi
