We happened upon this restaurant and tried what felt like a little bit of everything. We were so happy and gastronomically satisfied. Highly recommend.
An absolute gem! A huge thank you to Paolo for taking us on an incredible journey through Italy with your beautiful wines and dishes showcasing the very best of produce. What a find! Trattoria’s like Cesare al Pellegrino and people like Paolo are what turns a meal into a memory that lasts a lifetime.

Food is bland unfortunately.
I heard about this place while searching for recommendations on YouTube (RomeWise). I wanted my family to have an authentic roman experience in a restaurant not tailored to tourists. The restaurant is a 6-minute walk from a piazza with a heavy tourist crowd and noisy restaurants. The food and wine were excellent. I had a Rigatone a la Matriciana. We walked in a little after 9 pm. We did not make a reservation.
Our best meal in Rome. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere just lovely - comfortable and easy. We were very impressed by the friendly, thoughtful servers and watching the two of them take care of the whole front of house was like watching a ballet. They worked seamlessly together, and took wonderful care of every table. Bravo to the whole team - it was a beautiful dinner.
