Cafezal Brunch & Specialty Coffee - Bicocca/BiM

Very nice place, lunch is delicious with weekly menu. Service top and coffee is the best! Breakfast is also the best in the area.

Cappucino served cold at a place that should be renowned for coffee. That wasn't expected.

Unfortunately the good reviews on here are incomprehensible. Unfriendly and slow service especially as a tourist. Locals on the table next to us were treated totally different. 8,5€ for a normal toast without any sauce or cutlery.

I was there this morning and the service was really slow. We sat outside for a while and noticed no one comes to us so 2 of us went inside and ordered. We were asked to go outside and sit down and wait for the order. When the others went to order they were asked to go back outside and wait. Then after more than 5 minutes someone came to take their order. We got the food quite quick compared to the drinks. Which I think is normal to get the drinks first before the food. My friends almost finished their food and then got the drinks. That's how long it took. We had no cutlery, napkins. Also, no availability for products and they didn't look so happy to have tourists as costumers. They could've done way better considering people from the table next to us got their water in less than 2 minutes and their order taken as soon as they were ready.

If you are planning to travel across the city to visit this café, don’t waste your time. I love specialty coffee and was genuinely looking forward to experiencing Milan’s specialty coffee scene. Judging by the photos, cafezal looked professional, modern, and full of beautiful desserts. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. The café itself looks nice and modern, but that is where the positives ended for me. There were only two coffee beans available, both from Brazil. For a specialty coffee shop, this is an extremely limited selection. The only pastries available were a brownie and a few standard-looking frozen pastries. None of the desserts shown in the café’s photos were available. I asked for a cappuccino with lactose-free milk. It turned out that not only was lactose-free milk unavailable, but the manager informed me that they had completely run out of regular milk as well. The only option offered was oat milk, which I do not drink. I spent about 30 minutes getting to this café in the heat, so the overall experience was extremely disappointing. P.S. The menu is available in Russian and Belarusian, but not in Ukrainian. As a Ukrainian visitor, I found this not just disappointing, but very telling — especially in the context of Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine. For me, this detail says a lot about the attitude and positioning of the café’s management. I would not return and cannot recommend making a special trip to visit this place.
