ARYA Bistrot & Cocktail Bar ROMA

We popped in here desperate for food and drink after recently getting off the train at Termini following our flight to Rome. The food was superb and served with Italy's best beer, Ichnusa. Maybe it's because I'm English and not used to Roman espresso, but even that tasted special. I had the Octopus with bread and my partner had a Poke bowl and both were fresh and delicious. Attentive and polite staff too. A great experience to set us up for our trip to Rome.

I had a poke chicken bowl. They charged me for salmon which had 1 euro difference. I asked them and they seemed to know about it. They gave me one euro back but as 10 of 10 cent coins. I think they just decided to give me a hard time. I asked them to give me one coin of 1 euro. What is this? Apparently I was a solo tourist, asian female.

Wait time for simple coffees and even a freaking croissant was ridiculous. Half of our group 5 drank and ate, while the other half sat with nothing. And then we had to ask if the rest of our orders were coming. On top of that, the final order delivered came out wrong. I just about wanted to cancel, say forget it and walk out.

We were on a work trip and had lunch at this lovely bistro. There were 25 of us and we’d been in touch with the restaurant beforehand. That meant we didn’t have to wait long and they already knew what we wanted to order. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We’d definitely recommend this lovely little bistro.

What a great find! A relaxed atmosphere with great company, wines and cicchetti. Superb.
